Dr. Patrick Seiniger is currently the Deputy Head of Unit Active Vehicle Safety & Driver Assistance Systems at Bundesanstalt für Straßenwesen - Federal Highway Research Institute. Previously has worked at TU Darmstadt, Fachgebiet Fahrzeugtechnik and BMW Group.
• Studied mechanical engineering at TU Darmstadt, research assistant at the chair of Automotive Engineering (Prof. Winner), dissertation on motorcycle driving dynamics in 2009.
• Since 2009 senior researcher at Federal Highway Research Institute (Bundesanstalt für Straßenwesen) in the section Active Vehicle Safety.
• First working on development and implementation of test procedures and requirements for automated emergency braking systems in Euro NCAP, then contributing to several active safety regulations and automated driving regulations at the level of the United Nations (in what was formerly known as the UN ECE world).
• Deputy head of section since 2015
• In 2018 commanded to the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure
• Currently on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport and together with Japan chairing an UN working group on automated emergency braking systems for heavy vehicles
• Since 2019 Lecturer for Motorcycles at the Chair of Automotive Engineering at TU Darmstadt
